How to remove Zimbra Proxy

Few days ago I found some problem with zimbra-proxy, the problem was occurred when I try to download email more than 2MB. Yep, I can’t download large email using POP3 or IMAP through zimbra-proxy. At first time I suspect that the internet connection caused this problem but after doing some investigation I found that the problem was caused by zimbra-proxy on version 8.0.4. So I have to remove zimbra-proxy from my server.

First step, login to user zimbra then disable and uninstall proxy from zimbra:

# su – zimbra
$ zmprov -l ms `zmhostname` -zimbraServiceEnabled imapproxy
$ zmprov -l ms `zmhostname` -zimbraServiceInstalled imapproxy
$ zmprov -l ms `zmhostname` -zimbraServiceEnabled proxy
$ zmprov -l ms `zmhostname` -zimbraServiceInstalled proxy

Then stop the zimbra services:

# su – zimbra
$ zmcontrol stop

After that exit from zimbra user and then remove zimbra proxy package from the system.

$ exit
# rpm -e –nodeps `rpm -qa |grep zimbra-proxy`
Acctually zimbra-proxy has been removed from the system, don’t forget to start your and check zimbra service after that :)

# su – zimbra
$ zmcontrol start
$ zmcontrol status

$ zmcontrol status
Host edgemail.intisari.int
antispam Running
antivirus Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Running
mta Running
opendkim Running
snmp Running
spell Running
stats Running
zmconfigd Running
$

And check your proxy package:

$ rpm -qa |grep zimbra
