How to get numeric snmp oid’s using snmpwalk

snmpwalkThis is a short tips to get numeric snmp oid instead of MIB resolutions. When run snmpwalk you will get MIB resolutions like this:

# snmpwalk -c mycommunity localhost -v2c .

UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis. = INTEGER: 0
UCD-SNMP-MIB::ucdavis. = STRING: “1562”

It’s so difficult when you need to add numeric snmp oids to your monitoring tools ex: cacti, nagios, zennos, etc. Simple way to get numeric snmp oid with add -On on snmpwalk command, please see below:

# snmpwalk -c mycommunity localhostĀ -On -v2c .

. = INTEGER: 1
. = STRING: “1562”

Hope this help..
