How to install iftop from source on CentOS 7

Iftop CaptureToday I try to install CentOS 7 on my server and I need to install iftop for monitor bandwidth usage from command line. But because there is no iftop rpm package available for CentOS so I need to install from source.

Install compiler and dependecies:

yum -y install gcc gcc-c++ make libpcap-devel ncurses-devel

Download tarbal source:

# wget http://www.ex-parrot.com/pdw/iftop/download/iftop-1.0pre4.tar.gz

Extract and compile:

# tar -zxvf iftop-1.0pre4.tar.gz
# cd iftop-1.0pre4
# ./configure –prefix=/usr/local/iftop
# make
# make install
# ln -s /usr/local/iftop/sbin/iftop /usr/sbin/iftop

And finish, now you can run iftop from shell. Hope this help
